Bio: Linda is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily across performance mediums. Their work is often concerned with questions of identity, home, the balancing act of empowerment and the dismantling of power and relationship ephemera in a post-digital world. As an actor, writer and script editor/dramaturg, they have worked with institutions such as The Street Theatre, YouAreHere, the National Gallery of Australia, the Museum of Australian Democracy and Questacon. Linda lives and works predominantly on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land. It has been many years since they have written a poem.
Yan Ru Lee is an emerging writer, filmmaker and creative producer from Malaysia, currently based on Yugara Country. With a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, she drifts between print, screen and live performance, following stories wherever they feel most alive. Her work has featured in publications, galleries and film festivals, often lingering in the strange and the tender. Ru is drawn to the uncanny and the off-kilter, using storytelling to unsettle, confront, and illuminate marginalised social issues.
Isla is a non-fiction, fiction and multimedia writer and editor based on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Land (ACT). Coming from a theatre background, she is interested in the intersection between audience participation, audiovisual experience, and literary form. Isla is fascinated by magical realism, and draws upon the technological, natural and supernatural to capture the fear and yet irresistible draw of the unknown.
River Gammon is a writer and digital media artist living in Naarm on unceded Wurundjeri land. He creates cyberspaces of play and whimsy, seeking to re-enchant the online world. His work has been featured in Voiceworks, Cordite Poetry Review, and the Emerging Writer's Festival.
Tihtina is an emerging writer of Tigrayan heritage residing in Naarm. While working primarily with creative non-fiction, Tihtina has interests in storytelling in different forms. Tihtina is interested in working with ideas of fragmented identity, narrative, and preservation of memory. Tihtina enjoys the convergence of story and digitality as a format for exploring play and nostalgia.
The 2025 program of Toolkits: Digital Storytelling was guided by facilitator Aries M. Gacutan . Toolkits is a 12-week online program for creatives aged 16 to 30 to develop their skills, workshop, and connect with other writers.
